The article itself is an interesting read, but the guy says a lot of stuff that sounds misinformed. He's a bit too precious of his own work, I think - especially considering that this photo and "Men Waiting" are just highly artificial reconstructions of the man-on-the-street photography he derides.

Alec Soth's take on it is kind of silly, but he links to a other people's views on it. It's worth a read.
